ANALISA PENCEMARAN POLUSI UDARA BERDASARKAN INDEKS KUALITAS UDARA (Studi Kasus : Wilayah Kecamatan Citamiang Kota Sukabumi)

Air is a component of the environment whose air quality is closely related to the level of public health and development activities. Air plays an important role in maintaining ecological balance and the survival of creatures on earth. There are several factors that can reduce air quality including population density, traffic density, fuel oil use, and lack of green space. This condition is similar to the condition of Citamiang Sub-district, Sukabumi City. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine how air quality in Citamiang Sub-district and provide solutions to the impact of air pollution. The method used was qualitative descriptive of existing air quality conditions using air quality index (AQI) analysis. The results obtained from the processing of ambient air quality data in Citamiang Sub-district, Sukabumi City for the past 3 (three) years, namely in 2021, 2022 and 2023 based on the Air Quality Index (AQI) standard are categorized as good, with an Air quality index value in 2021 of 82.2, in 2022 of 77.2 and in 2023 of 79.72. Then, to deal with the risk of air pollution in the Citamiang District of Sukabumi City, namely by increasing green open space, increasing the use of electric transportation, and reducing combustion activities that cause the spread of smoke in the surrounding environment.
