Abstract

Water is a very important need for human life. In Cirumput Village, Cugenang District, there is a clean water crisis caused by the natural disaster of an earthquake. This research aims to determine the design process, tool manufacturing process, and drinking water validation test results in order to provide drinking water during natural disasters in Cirumput Village. One way to get air that is suitable for drinking is using an air filtration device with stages starting from literature study, designing an air filtration device, making an air filtration device, conducting tests on the air produced by the air filtration device, and analyzing the data. For the design creation uses Solidworks, the bottom part of the gallon has a diameter of 265 mm, the cylindrical section has a height of 340 mm, the conical section has a height of 150 mm, and the outer tube has a diameter of 55 mm. In terms of size, this air filtration device is quite compact because it only uses 2 gallons so it is easy to carry and move anywhere. And the validation test results are generally quite good but do not meet the requirements for drinking water quality standards because there are 2 parameters that do not meet the requirements for drinking water quality standards, namely Total Coliform and Nitrate, so improvements are made to the air filtration equipment such as adding a lid to top gallon. Install the valve, and increase the UV lamp delivery time. After repairs were made to this filtering device, a second test was carried out, but the water produced still did not meet the requirements for drinking water quality standards, because it still contained Total Coliform, so this air filtering device needed to be followed up by increasing the power of the UV lamp in order to improve the tool. this air filter.
