Abstract

The company is engaged in the garment industry, which produces apparel. Based on the condition of the goods for 1 year before export has an average defect of 2.09% while the company's target for 1 year for defect value is 1%. The company's target in 1 year for the defect value is 1%. Losses from goods that are defect for one year is approximately 16 M of the total exported goods XYZ about 7,204,400 there are 2268 defective goods during the year 2023. The percentage of defects that do not meet the target results in several things, including increasing expensive production costs, production time will be long, decreasing the velocity value. production time will be long, decreased product velue value, and will make consumers disappointed. disappointed. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of analyzing defects and designing improvement proposals using the defects and designing improvement proposals using the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method. The results of this study found that the number of defects due to shape unbalanced percentage 46% the number of defects due to broken stitches percentage 30% and the number of defects due to jumping stitches is 23%. So it is necessary to do proposed improvements to overcome and reduce the number of defects found at the time of checking the initial & final stages.
