ANALISIS KESULITAN BELAJAR SISWA PADA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA DAN SOLUSI PENYELESAIANNYA DI KELAS V SD

Mathematics is an important subject at the elementary school level, because mathematics helps reason and trains students in solving everyday problems. However, the abstract nature of learning mathematics makes children experience difficulties in learning mathematics. This study aims to describe the difficulties experienced by students in learning mathematics and find out the factors that cause student learning difficulties and find solutions to students' learning difficulties in learning mathematics. This research is quantitative descriptive. Determination of research subjects was carried out by purposive sampling, by selecting 10 students who indicated having learning difficulties. Data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires and interviews. The instruments used were field notes, questionnaire sheets, and interview guides. The results of the research show that students' mathematics learning difficulties in class V include difficulties with arithmetic operations, difficulties in solving geometric problems and difficulties in solving word problems. Factors that cause difficulties in learning mathematics come from internal factors and external factors. Internal factors come from within students, such as negative attitudes and students' low learning ability in learning mathematics and lack of practice in mathematics questions. Apart from that, the external factors that cause students' learning difficulties are the lack of variety in teachers' teaching strategies and methods, the inadequate use of learning media and the atmosphere or environment for student learning that is less conducive.
