Abstract

This research focuses on the problem of student learning outcomes, especially in Natural Sciences (Science) in Elementary Schools (SD), where this achievement determines the success of the learning process in schools. Improved learning outcomes are considered a parameter of such success. Even so, SDN Tespong Raya and SDN Cicadas Girang face obstacles in achieving student learning outcomes, especially in the field of science. This challenge stems from the lack of variety of learning models and the limited use of media, resulting in a lack of active student participation. This research seeks to overcome this problem by applying the Group Investigation learning model and utilizing Powtoon Audio Visual media (ADIVIPO). Powtoon is a web-based application that allows the creation of presentations with animations, images, music, and sound. The purpose of the study was to measure the impact of using the Group Investigation model with the help of Powtoon Audio Visual media on the science learning outcomes of grade V students in elementary schools in the Baros District Cluster. The research method uses pseudo-experiments with Quasi-Experimental Design design, especially nonequivalent control group design. Data on student learning outcomes are taken through posttests in the form of multiple-choice questions. The analysis showed the difference in average posttest scores between the experimental class (83.78) and the control class (76.15). The results of the hypothesis test using the Mann-Whitney Test showed Asymp sig values of 0.019 < 0.05, showing the positive influence of the use of the Group Investigation learning model assisted by powtoon audio visual media on the science learning outcomes of grade V elementary school students in the Baros District Cluster. Thus, the Group Investigation learning model assisted by powtoon audio-visual media can be considered as an effective alternative to improve student learning outcomes.
