Abstract

Learning media is very important in the process of learning activities. We have now entered the 21st century and technology has increasingly developed. Teachers need to use learning media that combines technology, namely Toontastic 3D digital media, a 3D animated video maker. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using Toontastic 3D-based animated video media on science learning outcomes in class IV at SDN Pintukisi. This research uses quantitative true experimental methods with pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was all class IV of Pintukisi Elementary School, totaling 85 students and the sample used was 52 students including two classes, namely class IV A as the experimental class which was given treatment and class IV C as the control class which was not given treatment. Sampling used random sampling. The data analysis techniques used are normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. The results of the research show that there is an influence of the use of Toontastic 3D- based animation video media on science learning outcomes which are better than before the treatment, where each class showed an average pretest score for the control class of 64 and the pretest score for the experimental class before the treatment was 69. On the other hand, the average posttest score for the science learning results of the control class which was not treated was 81 on average and the average posttest science score for the experimental class with Toontastic 3D learning was 87.
