Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of potential inflation and financial distress on share prices in automotive and component sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2018-2022 period.
The type of research used is a quantitative approach. The sampling method used is the purposive sampling method, with the data analysis method used is the Altman Z-Score model, determining the panel data estimation model, T test, F test, and coefficient of determination.
Research results using the Altman Z-score model show that there is 1 company out of 6 companies in the automotive and component sub-sector for the 2018-2022 period that is experiencing financial distress, 1 company is in a gray area condition, and 4 companies are in a healthy condition (non-financial distress). While the results of partial research on the inflation variable have an effect on stock prices, then the results of financial distress research with the variables WCTA, RETA and EBITTA have no effect on stock prices, while the MVEBTL and STA variables have an effect on stock prices. The research results simultaneously show that the independent variables (Inflation and financial distress) have a significant positive effect on the dependent variable (Share Prices) with a value of 33.62 >
2.52. The R-Square value in the research was 0.7505 or 75.05%. This means that the inflation and financial distress variables contribute an influence of 75.05% to stock prices and the remaining 24.95% is influenced by other variables outside the research model.
