Abstract
This study focuses on the design of the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) for a Sundanese language learning application targeted at students in elementary school (SD) 01 Cibatu, Sukabumi. The primary objective is to create an engaging and intuitive application that can effectively support Sundanese language acquisition among young learners.
The study employs a user-centered design approach, involving extensive user research, prototyping, and iterative testing. The research phase includes interviews with teachers, students, and education stakeholders to understand their needs, preferences, and existing challenges in Sundanese language learning. Based on these insights, the UI and UX designs are developed, emphasizing visual clarity, age-appropriate interactions, and seamless navigation.
The application features a combination of interactive lessons, gamified exercises, and multimedia content to stimulate learning. Special attention is given to the integration of Sundanese cultural elements, such as traditional illustrations and audio recordings, to enhance the cultural relevance and immersion.
Usability testing is conducted with the target user group to assess the effectiveness of the design in improving engagement, knowledge retention, and overall user satisfaction. The findings from the study provide valuable insights for the development of engaging and educational Sundanese language learning applications for elementary school students.
