Abstract
Indonesia is an agrarian country where the majority of the population works in the agricultural sector. The agricultural sector plays an important role in providing employment, food supplies, and contributing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, farmers in Sukabumi face various obstacles, such as the availability of fertilizers, accessibility of purchasing locations, as well as pest and plant disease attacks. To overcome these problems, the implementation of Smart Farming with UI/UX-based applications can improve agricultural efficiency and productivity. Visual Communication Design (DKV) also plays an important role in conveying information effectively to farmers. In designing the UI/UX of the Smart Farming application, this research uses the Design Thinking process approach which includes the stages of Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Through testing, respondents were given tasks and assessed using the SEQ usability testing method to measure how difficult it is for Users to find information. The findings of this study indicate that the Smart Farming application can assist and facilitate farmers in their activities through features such as the purchase of agricultural products, agricultural article features, and community chat features. The test results also show that respondents felt the given tasks were not too difficult, but there were some notes regarding certain elements that need improvement. The design of the Smart Farming UI/UX application is expected to provide new innovations and have a positive impact on improving digital literacy in the agricultural sector.
