Abstract

Waste management is a serious challenge faced by countries around the world. Improper management can lead to accumulation of waste and negative impact on the environment. Indonesia, as one of the countries experiencing waste problems, faces major challenges with increasing population and human activities. In particular, Sukabumi City and Situ Mekar Village are facing serious problems related to the impact of waste accumulation. To overcome this problem, this study aims to determine the physical quality of groundwater (color, smell, taste, and turbidity) of the community around the Situ Mekar Urban Landfill, determine the chemical quality of groundwater (pH, TDS, Hardness, Chlorine) of the community around the landfill. in the Situ Mekar Sub-District and knowing the role of the environmental service in waste management around the Situ Mekar Sub-District, this study used a descriptive qualitative method using primary and secondary data sources. residents' well water which is 250 meters from TPA Cikundul has a pH value of 7,840 pH value which means it meets drinking water quality standards which has a maximum value of 6.5-8.5 while the lowest TDS value is found in well 1 of 397 mg/L. well 2, namely the residents' well water which is 500 meters from the TPA location has a pH value of 7.675, a pH value which means that it meets drinking water quality standards which has a maximum value of 6.5-8.5. The highest TDS content is found in well 2 of 446 mg/L. The pH value of the river water itself has a value of 7.570, this value still meets the water quality standards according to regulations, so river water with a pH parameter of 6.5-8, 5 can still be used for recreational facilities, and for the TDS value it has a value of 231 which is still classified as fulfilling water quality standards, which is still below 500 mg/L,
d. The pH value of the sewer water itself has a value of 7.152, this value still meets the water quality standards in accordance with regulations so that the sewer water with a pH parameter of 6.5-8.5 is still not contaminated with leachate, and for the TDS value it has a value of 802 not meet water quality standards, namely above 500 mg/L. Then for the hardness value of the river water itself, it has a value of 140 mg/L, which is still classified as fulfilling the water quality standard, which is still below 500 mg/L and food waste is used as animal feed, other organic waste such as leaves, vegetables and fruits will be processed into compost or used in several 3R TPS as magot feed. Conduct outreach to the community regarding segregation of sourced waste in order to make it easier for TPS 3R to manage waste that enters TPS 3R. From observations during the research, the average waste that enters TPS 3R is still mixed, this will make it difficult to sort waste based on its type and will take longer to sort.
