Abstract

Since the 1970s solar energy has been used as an alternative to overcoming the oil crisis in particular so that it has received a lot of attention around the world,
because solar energy has unlimited quantities. Now nothing is more important than electrical energy, because the shortage of electrical energy is a significant obstacle
to this civilization. Solar energy can be utilized and is useful for meeting energy needs and minimizing the environmental impact of the production of energy derived
from fossils. The Indonesian government has an ambitious target of zero emissions by 2060, increasing the new renewable energy mix to 23 percent by 2025, as well
as efforts by the West Java Provincial Government to increase the implementation of new renewable energy up to 6.8 GW in 2025. The Greater Sukabumi Region
(Sukabumi Regency and City) also is actively developing the use of solar energy as the main renewable energy. This research seeks to produce a design and cost
analysis of rooftop solar panels for energy independent prayer rooms with PVSyst simulations. Therefore it is hoped that this research will be able to help the prayer
room to obtain a roof solar panel system design that can meet its electricity needs
independently.
