Abstract

Kebonpedes village has a rice mill, where the quality of the rice produced from this rice mill is not very good due to the fact that the spring on the outlet cover is stressed. One of these causes the rice that comes out of the polishing machine to rub against other rice and the outlet cover is spring-loaded so that the rice results are broken. So a modification is needed to the rice polishing machine outlet to remove the spring pressure on the rice polishing machine outlet cover. The stages of modification of the rice polishing machine outlet started from the modified
design, the application of the modified results by adding bushings to the rice polishing machine, and the results of calculating the force of the outlet cover spring pressure. The results of the analysis before the modification by calculating the spring constant and spring force values, the spring constant value is 14,000 N/m and the spring force value which causes the spring pressure on the rice polishing
outlet cover to be -112.7 N. After implementing the modifications to the rice polishing machine outlet, the spring is no longer compressed and the rice output
from the rice polishing machine is better, it does not cause the rice to break like the result before this modification was applied. This modification was successful because it removed the emphasis on the spring of the polishing machine outlet cover and resulted in unspoiled rice.
