Abstract

The use of materials in the field often creates a large amount of material residue, so that efforts to minimize material waste will help reduce environmental impacts. For this reason, it is necessary to identify the material that has the potential to
cause material residue and to know the percentage of losses caused by the occurrence of material residue. This study uses direct observation and interview methods to determine the factors that cause material residue to occur. The projects used as research objects are Karang Kencana Housing, Serpong Garden Housing, and Berkah Alam Housing. The purpose of this study is an effort to minimize the remaining contruction material on the 3 housing projects, in this
study using a quantitative method where this method is direct observation and conducting interviews with supervisors in the field. The required project data is in the form of a unit price list for the project to calculate the cost of the remaining
material. The results of the evaluation of the research data show that the percentage of material residual costs for the two housing types with the largest percentage came from split stone material in housing type 22 of 1,01 m2 while the
largest material volume is in pasi with a volume of 3,85 m2 and housing type 30 with the smallest volume. For red brick material with a volume of 0,44 m2 while the largest volume in lightwight brick is 4,00 m2, the main factor causing the remaining light brick material which is damaged/broken during transportation
